The Unseen Stillness of Eagle Lake
Two days later, on August 26th, the men spent the day fishing on Eagle Lake. They thought they might have more luck at night because there was no moon. It was so dark that night that the men built a bonfire as a beacon to guide them back to their campsite when they were done. The darkness, along with the uncommon stillness of the night, made Chuck later recall there was an eerie feeling in the air.
