The Allmormon Body of Legislators
Allmormon legislatures met in 18 52 to reassert racial political and ideological boundaries. Brigham young was at the forefront of that effort. He laid out his views regarding slavery while articulating a firm and forceful position concerning race base priesthood restriction, grounded in biblical curses. Underlying all of it was a percolating anxiety, both within and without mormonism, over interratial mixing.
