How to Create a High Mix, Low Volume Manufacturing Line
When you have high mix, low volume, that's the kind of thing where we can pick some examples. All production lines require a crapload of expertise. But for the opposite case,. this is more in line what people traditionally think of in terms of mass manufacturing. The idea is to set up your machine for a particular run of an item and then you run however many of them you need to run. That requires a lot of expertise to run that kind of shop.
