If you're just looking to get somebody who's really good at the thing that they do, asking for referrals from people is great. That's great if you are just looking for talent. We go about it a different way where we are looking for referrals, but we look in-house for those referrals. The ones that we don't want in the organization, we call them donkeys. So making sure you get the right people in, and the people that know that the best are the people that you brought in will be able to find their friends.
