The History of Gentrification in India

The three cities are London, Berlin and St. Petersburg and Russia. The background of gentrification in London is really an ongoing new liberalization of housing which has led to waves after waves of gentrification. In contrast to London the state state intervention played a huge role also in impeding or slowing down gentrification for a long time in Berlin. So what we have is three very different cities although all of them are in Europe I think they stand for different political and institutional histories and they also stand for very different housing systems into which gentrification is embedded.
