The concept of implicit bias has been used as a rhetorical device to try to get people to be less defensive about the possibility that they might have these kinds of biases. Now what progressives talk about is more structural racism, or else kind of very explicit prejudice. The idea that like, you might be problematic in some way that's not really your fault, but that you now have some responsibility to do something about? I think that idea is still really prevalent.
