The Texas Abortion Act Doesn't Interfere With State Commerce
The Justice department is claiming that because s b a can make you liable for even facilitating an abortion, that might implicate things that banks and insurance companies do with respect to abortions. So they point out that out of state abortion providers are being overwhelmed by requests from women from texas who want to go to these other states in order to have legal abortions. Texas actually says that s b t is stimulating interstate travel. And yes, that'ss as crazy as it seems, with a straight face.
