Singer does sort of slip into a lower register when she's singing too and has this really like sly very like sardonic way of vocalizing. I think it's why she's such a hard artist to cover and in fact you don't really hear a lot of this pair covers totally partially for that reason because it is so much an extension of her. Taking away from her and put into somebody else doesn't necessarily work the same, he says.
