The Origins of Clarity Therapeutics
Genesis has over 20 year history of working on developing living cells into medicine. The origins of that work really revolve around the controlled high quality procurement of postpartum placentas under full informed consent. We recognize early on the placenta as unique immunomodulatory ability to control many aspects of the immune system including inflammation graph rejection and we sought to turn those particular biological properties into useful clinical tools for the treatment of autoimmune disease. It just happened to be that at the at the outset of COVID-19 being a significant global pandemic threat we saw an opportunity to deploy the same product the same placenta natural killer cell as a tool to treat viral infection.
