Why Aren't We Honest About Our Motives?
Political loyalty is the fear that unless you show sufficient loyalty to the people around you, they will punish you. Many of our rules and motive norms are in terms of motive. And so it's therefore very important to us to be able to push a good story about our motives. We've gone over ten different areas, and in each area i've said there's the standard problem that we say we have,. There's the alternative problem, a e, the saner motive we says we have, the alternative motive that we really have. The big question is, why aren't we honest about the motives? Our human ancestors were distinguished in importantly, by having norms.
