I'm curious where you think the rise of strong men leaders fits into these trends that you're describing? And i'm thinking of a people like duterte in the philippines, whos obviously now no longer in power. I think my interpretation of that trend is that because electoral democracy is so flawed and ends up producing policies that leave most people unsatisfied,. There's a ing frustration toward this - maybe we'd be better off with a strong man who would cut through all the red tape.
