Harrowing Children Stories From Denmark
Eliza Binchies shares some of the harrowing children stories her Danish mother used to tell her. The illustrations are very descriptive in themselves, but almost always include a scenario where the child meets an untimely demise from disobeying authority. She also includes an excerpt from a translated story about an eel who was stealing all the herring from the Fisherman's lines.
