When you're in the gap, as you call it, you're literally stealing energy from what you need to be doing. In any year, you have your allocated a certain amount of energy. And every time you say to yourself, ah, this is horrible I can't do this, you're not helping yourself at all. That's why stress and anxiety and negativity causes heart attacks and strokes and anxiety disorders and so on. So you're taking energy from yourself, and your brain has to re focus on not writing the book, but on taking care of poor little you who'se sick with anxiety.
