Dr. Chu: Throughout the patient's presentation, they were hemodynamically stable. ECG showed monomorphic ventricular tachycardia; blood work eventually returned that showed a potassium level of 2.8. The patient is ultimately discharged to complete an oral load of amiodarone and is continued on his home mitoprol therapy. Two years later, he returns to the emergency department with multiple shocks from his ICD. Dr. Chu: Knowing that he has an ICD, that comprised one of the key areas of management that we need to sort out better.
