How to Be More Resilient in the Modern World

There's so much in what you said that resonates from my own life because I came to Permaculture having been a Cub Scout and a Boy Scout. So we were doing a lot of firemaking, not with friction. My friction firemaking skills are terrible, but I'm okay with flint and steel. But yeah, I really find that those kinds of things teach us a lot more about the world around us than necessarily what we might get in a modern classroom.
