The study found that 40% of respondents had used at least one plantation for fuel, wood, fodder or grazing. But they also ranked their dependence on these as low, so the contribution to rural livelihoods was modest. The price we pay for carbon draw down isn't sufficient, but it certainly is alarming when we pay nothing for those other kind of societa and broader ecological benefits which we claim to really value.
