How to Commercialize an Iron Air Battery
Whether a battery succeeds commercially depends on its upfront cost, also known as capital expenditure or CapEx. Another factor that plays a role in the battery's success is so-called round trip efficiency - how much electricity you get back from the battery for every unit of energy you put in. If the losses are like 25%, then the cost of running the battery increases quite a lot. But if the losses are less than 10%, it's a much more manageable situation.
