The idea of like, hey, I can fit so much stuff into a slot or I can fit basically one item into a slot. That meant that negotiating for things was easy. The constant pressure of random encounters and failing light was omnipresent in the game. It might just shake things up a little bit if you flip initiative back and forth every so often.
