Making Successful Books for Kids

I wanted to do it so that the mouse's point of view, when the mouse fell out, you were looking up. And I also wanted to draw it. So it looked like I had the flavor of those really early cartoons with the very, very early cartoons from the 1930s. It wasn't an easy, quick thing to do. Most books have taken me about a year to do on average. Wow, that's a long time. But it's a mysterious art, isn't it? Making successful books for kids. What's the recipe for a good kids book? A lot of people think it's easy because it's often just 400 words.
