Emotional Intelligence in Organizations
Daniel golman is an author and science journalist. He co founded the collaborative for academic, social and emotional learning at yale universities childs studis centre. In 19 95, he authored the internationally best selling book emotional intelligence which is his major claim to fame. Golman sees this as a set of competencies that allow you not only to assess other people's emotions, but control and use your own emotions. His theory can be broken down into five things: self awareness, self regulation, social scales, motivation and empathy.
