Carmen Estrada: consciousness does seem to sometimes throw a monkey wrench into contemporary theories. She says that science is always changing, and small changes in emphasis can drastically change what might be called the 'ontology' or interpretation of what's actually going on. "It just so happens that your consciousness perfectly corresponds and represents the real world," she adds.
