The Double Trap of Philosophy

When philosophy is done academically in universities, it's so detached from survival concerns that it becomes really delusional. You can't get answers to those questions from an armchair. And most philosophers don't understand this. One of the appeals of philosophy for very intellectual people is that it allows you to disconnect yourself from mundane, everyday survival concerns. It ows you to sit in that armchair and to just kind of speculate in the abstract about various kinds of high falutin questions. The problem ois that you can't reach the answers by sitting in an arm chair. There are answers.
