The early version of the exact sciences test back in the late 90s, early 2000s was looking for DNA mutations mainly. And DNA methylation is just a better marker class. It took 100 micro titer plates to run a test for one patient. So it was brute force. But Dave had discovered and found some markers that had broader coverage at the tissue level. He raised $10 million to fund that effort to get to the data which convinced Mini-Sarora and me to join him.
