The Impact of the Black Death on Society
The Black Death in the middle of the 14th century occurred during the high-middle ages when Western Europe was dominated by a feudal system. The English population didn't recover until the 1700s, and this demographic shock had an enormous impact on society. About 100 years after the Black Death, basically you have kind of all the serfs in England have been freed, have won their freedom. And eventually you see the emergence of agricultural capitalism. This transformation in the English countryside also drives the emergence of industrialization and colonialism.
