Is Water Breaking the Fast?

The letter of the law says, water does not break the fast. Even if you're smelling something at the same time youre drinking water, and that scent tricks your sense of taste into thinking you are tasting something, all youare really doing is drinking water. The devil cannot hold a mortal sin over you. And even if you've committed a mortal sin, just repent, and god loves you and will take you back like he took back the prodigal son.
