The Drive as Montage
To recover one's libido at the level of the drive is to recover an unreal because pre-real, pre-existent mythical experience of life in the midst of death. The prevailing image that Lacan provides of the drive looks a lot like an arrow that is shot, but that strangely also returns back to the shooter. All right, do you all see this diagram?
