If you are constantly asking people for permission to do things, this is gong to sound really weird. But in my experience, any time you ask somebody something, whether it's permission or do you like this, the natural inclination of people is going to be to wonder why you're asking them. If it was a good idea, you'd already do it. You don't want to go over your boss's head. And i think that you can start that in a million ways. Even if your yo're the guy who dusts the blinds, if you've got a way you'd rather dust the blinds and then show that that worked better? I completely agree with you.
