The Importance of Work in Late Modernity
The book starts out very critical towards Protestantism. But it also wants to make an assertion that it moves in a positive direction towards it. It really is in a very Protestant-y kind of way, saying that the way we work has impacted our imagination about ourselves. What counts as good ministry takes the form of this late capitalist neoliberal form of work. That backwash does come with certain presumptions that could make some of our issues we face more difficult.
