What Is This So-Called South Asia?

South Asia is an artificial term coined by the West to take away whatever is good from India. Anything good that comes out of India, they portray it as a South Asian thing. But when something bad has to be spoken about, they will say it's Indian. A big guess is, why everything bad about India is India, but anything good from India is South Asian? What is this and what is the way it's trying to achieve by downplaying India everywhere?
