The Dream of a World Without Democracy
The idea of the modern nation state as having some sort of close genetic, indissoluble link with popular sovereignty and democracy is opposed. The places that libertarians truly envy are places that have had the advantage of never having had democracy in the first place. "In some ways, the vision that many of them have is to kind of multiply nation states endlessly," he says.
