DSM: The Bible of Psychiatric Disorders
What is this DSM? Where did it come from? What's a damn big book? It's been around for a while since the 50s and they keep adding more and more mental disorders to it. Some of the most prominent psychiatrists have referred to DSM diagnosis as constructs and placeholders. As former National Institute of Mental Health Director, Thomas Insell put it, "We actually believe diagnoses are real, but there's no reality"
