The Climate Pod

CHAPTER

The Three Ages of Water

The ability of early humans to manipulate their environment was critical to our success. The very first aqueducts were built to move water from one place to another or dams to store water in wet periods so we could use it during dry periods. This first age of water really was the first manipulation of the hydrologic cycle when we learned to control our environment rather than just suffer from the vagaries of our environment. All of this information comes from the early archaeologists, the archaeologists, the evidence from ancient writings and it helps inform what we know now about the transformation of humanity.
