The Manhattan DA's Office Decided to Take This Before a Grand Jury
The Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg six inherited these investigations. He is an elected prosecutor and similar to the attorney general for the state of New York during the campaign, there were a number of statements about not letting anyone being above the law. This Stormy Daniels case had been referred to among prosecutors for many years as the zombie case because it didn't seem really to be going anywhere but also wasn't dead.
