Is There a Nihilistic Streak in Libertarianism?
There's a nihilistic streak in libertarianism. And I think that nihilism expresses itself in support of Putin. They just, you know, they want to see the world burn because they'll be this beautiful anarchy. The American right today is single-mindedly obsessed with the culture world with the left. It's all they care about. So Putin represents true Western civilization. He represents tradition and Christianity and manhood ... All these things conservatives have embedded in as what it really is to be Western.
