Grace's Dance Party
I never thought I would have an abortion, but I've never needed to think about it. Jim said he wanted to have a dance party for her. And so in our pajamas, late at night, in our living room lit by candles, we danced with grace. When Mick Jagger sang, baby, I patted my little baby bump and we sang at it. We slow danced to sitting on the dock of the bay, which Jim has always said is a perfect song just the way that it is. That's how we said divide her. She was born weighing 7lb 8oz; she had two daughters before turning 20 years old.
