The Lower Risk of Sports Related Sudden Cardiac Arrest in Women

The incidence of sports related sudden cardiac arrest in women was 0.19 per million. In men it was 2.63 per million. That's more than a 13x higher rate in men for sports related cardiac arrest. Another thing also is that in the risk of sudden cardiac death seems to increase with age in men, but not in women. This makes me think there must be reasons for these sex related differences in the arrhythmia risk from sport.
