The Evolution of Jazz in China

When jazz came to Shanghai and then also in the United States, that was popular music. The older parents hated it because for the same reason they hate music now,. It's like, that's too sexy. Then in the 1950s rock and roll came out and jazz cease to be the American popular music. So by the time they reach China, jazz is not even the mainstream music in the US. But who knows? There's been crossover and something like that. For me, I'm happy with that. And there are some really amazing players here.
