The Role of Race in Maternal Mortality
Maternal mortality rates in the U.S. are much higher for women of color than they are for white women, according to a new study. The author says medical racism and weathering -- stress from living in America as a person of color -- contribute to those high death rates. "It's a real serious problem," she said.
