The mission is like seven years long to try to gather data from different parts of that solar cycle. The sun's magnetic field also flips every 11 years. And it's incredible how sensitive life on Earth is to the mood of the sun as the sun gets hotter. It changes the weather on Earth in a way that we can measure hundreds of millions of years later because of the trees.
