The Sign of Peace in the Liturgy
The early church derived this practice from the command of jesus christ himself. Ind matthew five, if you are offering your gift at the altar, and there, remember that your brother has something against you. Leave your gift there before the altar and go first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. Behold, the peace be with you, is said. And the christians embrace one another with the holy kiss.
