What Happened in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act?
The tax cuts and jobs act capped the amount of state and local tax salt that you could deduct as an itemized deduction. Since that time period, congresspeople from those blue states have been trying to get the salt cap repealed. So far it has not been successful. The last thing we've heard was about three weeks ago, is there our group of congresspeople working with pelusi to try to roll this salt cap back for two years? But right now we do not know.
