The Role of Mycelium in the Evolution of Life

Mushrooms are part of this large underground body that can be hundreds of hectares in size. And so just to think about these forms of kind of cumulative agency, that it's not these individual mushrooms that exist in and of themselves. Almost all the plants that we see in the world are part of underground networks with mycelium. But one thing I was really noticing was this deep tendency to render these different forms of life in passive ways.
