Growing Up Without a Father

I think the people who have the biggest impact in life are the people who believe they should. I don't know that I so much thought, you know, my other friends have dads, I don't have a dad. There was a wealth disparity there that I was definitely on the other side of the tracks. And then it wasn't until I was 30 or so that I began working on a book called Father Fiction and wrote about growing up without that. That led me to actually find my father who left when I was two years old. He's still alive. It was an amazing moment.
