The Air Traffic Controller Notices That They're Climbing Again
The plane was climbing when it should have been descending. The first officer switched the autopilot to control wheel steering roll mode, but also inadvertently turned on control wheel steering pitch mode as well. "This shows that the first officer had insufficient knowledge of the auto flight modes and the combinations," says pilot Chris O'Leary.
