R s v p is a french phrase, used as an absolutes just a reply. It doesn't necessarily include the idea of please or thank you. That's not yet in the dictionary. We don't think of what those initials really stand for - we just take it to mean a reply. And i feel like if i don't say, please. R s v p, it's rude.
