Author says his new book isn't telling people to do something different. It's exploring some facts about human nature, which i think people broadly accept. There is so much sort of post hawkiness to explaining our suffering that it's hard to tell when it actually is something valuable and when it's just something we've convinced ourselves that is valuable. And this is not to say that people should go through trama, but only that there is this wonderful psychological process that makes you a better person afterwards.
