DNA is lost really quickly in the next four or five generations so there is really strong selection against keeping Neanderthal DNA in your genome. We were talking to Eska Willis Lev about looking at ancient DNA from Greenland but you know do you think there's going to be more ancient DNA that you could find? I think that would be amazing if we could do that. Bones don't fossilize very well in the heat and the humidity of the tropics, even if the bone fossilizes DNA doesn't fare so well either in that hot humid environment.
