The Function of Early Bird Stroke Feathers
The earliest answers with feathers were not flying. Insulation would have been an important function, but also maybe display as dinosaurs were very sociable. Some of the smaller ones that became fliers were actually geologically older than some of the larger relatives. This suggests that some of these early bird stroke feathers evolved flight and then lost it. Interesting. We know from their anatomy that they had wish bones, that they made nests,. That they folded their arms just like birds for their wings to lay eggs.
