There is now a field to go into it's called public interest technology. Sometimes that means doing things like what Julia Angman does and interrogating algorithms. Other times it means something like working on government websites making them stronger so that they don't go down when there's a pandemic. There are lots of ways that you can build technology in the public interest or get involved with legal efforts around fighting algorithmic justice.
