When the Sedition Trial collapsed at the end of 1944, in certain ways we just declared victory and moved on. The idea was that these right wingers ultimately aren't really a danger to America. One of the uncomfortable truths that you find in the dark corners of our history is that fascism happens recurrently. People who call on fellow Americans to pick up arms need to be held accountable. And we have never done that in our history, really, for the right wing.
